TORONTO, ONTARIO – CardioComm Solutions, Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EKG) (“CardioComm” or the “Company”), a global medical provider of consumer heart monitoring and medical electrocardiogram (“ECG”) software solutions, today announced the appointment of Dr. John Foote, MD, CCFP(EM) from Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, as the newest member of the Company’s Board of Directors (“BOD”) and the resignation of BOD member Mr. William Smith.

The Company confirms it expects to see continued market opportunities in the tele/m-health and consumer wellness markets in 2018 and acknowledges this will require new BOD leadership and guidance changes to help map how CardioComm’s technologies will be introduced to these markets. With growing local and international interest from tele-medicine and mobile-health platform providers and from medical device manufactures who support these platforms, CardioComm’s capacity to support remote cardiac monitoring of individuals living with chronic conditions and those presenting acute health changes, is becoming more in demand. The Company first reported BOD changes in late 2016, when the Company welcomed Ms. Margaret (Meg) Helms, a 30 year veteran medical device M&A expert from Johnson & Johnson, whose most recent M&A work includes support to the October 2017 $1 billion acquisition of the Codman Neurosurgery business unit by Integra LifeSciences Today’s announcement provides additional weight to the Company’s medical advisory capabilities.

Dr. Foote’s addition to the BOD as a full voting BOD member and member of the Medical Advisory Committee will be immediate. His role will be to provide current and expert market insights to address best practices for implementation of CardioComm’s arrhythmia monitoring technologies in the family practice and emergency medicine fields as well as for community-based arrhythmia management strategies. In addition to his current role as a senior emergency room (“ER”) physician and physician influencer, Dr. Foote brings medical and market insights from his academic appointments as Assistant Professor and Director of the Emergency Residency Program of the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre at The Mount Sinai Hospital with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto; Medical expert for the Canadian Medical Physician Association for College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and Civil Actions involving ER physicians; the Chair of the Emergency Medicine Committee, College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Founding member of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians Academic Section; Medical Director of the Emergency Medicine Clinic at 2015 Toronto Pan AM Games and as an advisory board member to Emergency Medicine Cases, a monthly podcast service that services over 100,000 subscribers internationally, made up of physicians, nurses and paramedics.

Concurrent to the appointment of Dr. Foote, the Company has accepted the resignation of William Smith. Mr. Smith tendered his resignation as he moves into retirement. The board thanks Mr. Smith for his significant efforts and contributions to the Company over the years, and wishes him well.
